I have been researching budgeting and saving method. My first priority is saving for emergency fund. I want to track my expenses but am clueless as to how to do it. Should I just keep all receipts and record them? Should I use an app?

It really depends on what method you are comfortable using. I keep track of my expenses inside of a notebook planner I customized for myself which I use for budgeting and finances. Having a written budget forces me to pay attention to my finances.
I agree. It has to be something you are comfortable using. If you are comfortable using the method, then you'll continue.
Personally, I don't think you should wait to record them later. If you record them right away, you'll "feel" the purchase more deeply, which could help you to question whether the purchase is really needed or not.
Good luck.
I agree with the others. It's all on what you are comfortable with. I prefer to use a website called Mint which also has an app you can download to your phone.
Thanks I'm gonna give mint a try
I use Mint in addition to keeping a notebook and spreadsheet. Having paper copy keeps me on track when I travel for work as I have limited access to my home computer when away.
I use EveryDollar
It be the small spending that mess me up. I need to practice keeping track and sticking to the plan.
I don't use YNAB app, but their 4 rules rules are super helpful
I started hard core budgeting about 3 years ago. I do like to know where my money is going. Not down to the penny but an excel file. it has helped me pay my bills on time.
I found something that works for me. I am using this google doc and its simple and I will try this system and get used to it
I utilize Mint.
What is the best and easiest app to use to help with budgeting for someone who's just starting?
I use a composition notebook and just go from there
I use mint and also my own excel spreadsheet.
Mint, You Need A Budget (YNAB) and Personal Capital are the top apps in the Financial Independence Retire Early (FIRE) groups.
How do I possibly survive? How do I budget and save when I am in such depths. Hound single mother of 3, homeless, self employed…. No family…
For those learning to budget I think you need to portion out what you need especially in situations in which you are homeless focus on saving what you can and putting that towards bigger goals but always focus on your needs first!! Buy food and clothes any change save in a jar it starts small don’t feel pressure from people who can save more focus on what you can do for yourself.
Yes, I agree. You should focus on your needs first. Once that is done you can see what you have left to save and invest
i have found this lady on YouTube, she is amazing. Jordan page. she has an envelope budgeting video, which is free. and that has helped me alot!
