They change the wording so often it is confusing. Let me explain what I want. I want a strong TP. I do not want lotions or scents on it. Also it does not have to be sewer friendly- I do not flush TP at all. I throw it out separately and right away. The contonelle in the purple double ply or tripple ply suited. But they have such confusing labeling now I dont know what to buy. I want the most bang for the buck. Sometimes I clean my eye glasses with tissue- so that is why it cant have lotion in it.

To me soft means it doesnt work. I dont want the bad stuff to touch my finger/hands. So soft seems like it would be too thin, wet, holes in it. That means more rigorous handwashing is required. If I have to spend say 30 cents on hand wASHING, what good did saving a nickel do. I compleletly understand the concern with sewer pipes. They are expensive to dig up. You would be surprised the stuff people flush. The infastructure simply is not designed for extreme…

The teepee crisis of the world

It is a pretty recent invention. When the country was founded, it had not been invented. Just think for over 2000 years there was no such thing as TP.

While I am not a prepper I do insist on a well stocked house. The days of just in time delivery are over. In the mean time the issue is inflation. What is the difference between a double roll and a big roll? This product is a good example of product shrinkage. The inflation cost on things I need to run a household. Even before the pandemic I would buy 2 monster packs and was good for 6-8 months. When I have to run to the store last minute I always pay more.

Also there might be a difference in the sexes. Often women enjoy stores, malls, the process. Men in general hate to shop. We get what we need and escape. We hate shopping. Men in prehistoric times hunted game, where as women gathered berries and so forth.

Every dollar I dont squander I can pay on the principle on the mortgage of my house. For me that is like 5.5% interest rate.

New people, (I am not singling anyone out) use the posts as an opportunity to grow your financial resources and knowledge.

Have a joyful day everyone

Have we found the 'perfect' toilet paper yet? LOL Quilted Northern fan here…. if I get an amazing deal on another brand I will buy except for Scott… sorry too thin and rough for me….

I purchase whatever the store brand is that has 1,000 sheets per role. I purchase at Aldi's, Save-A-Lot, and Dollar General. I didn't used to like Scott and it's similar products, but the "softer, thicker" stuff clogged up the pipes under my house and made sewage backup into the finished basement. Yuck!!! (and expensive). So, sewer friendly, it is. I've adjusted well and it's typically more economical than Charmin and those types.

Well I believe the solution for this is making it mathematically constant. So the best formula would be "Weight of Package"/"Total Sheets in Package". Find a TP you like and run that formula, now you have a number to gauge the quality over a variety of brands. Then all you have to is add price into the equation and then you can find the best bang for the buck.

Of course, for overall savings, one can switch over to the bidet movement.

Chiming in to recommend a bidet. You can get a great one for about $40 or $50, and install it yourself on your existing toilet. It'll cut your TP usage down DRAMATICALLY and will have paid for itself after a year or two.

Angel soft mega rolls. I used to order from target (using the red debit card so 5% off and 2 day shipping - made it the cheapest way) the 18 roll pack and it would last our 5 person household almost 2 months during school months since the kids were gone all day. The mega rolls really are bigger than the regular rolls by a lot. During the great TP shortage of 2020, I had to suck it up and buy $1 TP from dollar general one time. We could breeze through that 4 pack in 1-2 days. Hardly anything on the roll.

I like Scott's it's fairly cheap but also works well in my septic tank.
