Don't go out. It seems that I spend more money when I go out.
When you do need to go shopping two things.
1: make and have with you a list of essentials.
2: do not shop hungry.
If possible, have a reusable drinking container with you. This can help cut down on gotcha-expenses for thirst-related beverages.
Do an automatic savings from your checking to your savings account set for every time you get paid.
But it feels hard when you're trying to save money
Make a monthly budget on paper tablet, on an excel spread sheet or whatever item you choose. Compare each month to see if you have made any improvements. If you do this it will help you track your money. It also give you a 12 month record of how you spend your money for one year.
There are so many options to work with in keeping tabs on your budget and once you start doing it you think twice when you decide to use a credit card or spend cash needlessly.

Helloany advice on getting my spouse to budget better with out him saying I'm being controlling and him flipping out ? I'm just trying to get out bills paid and debt taken care of so we can better our life and family and its like money burns a hole in his pocket it its there to long .
