I am currently trying to find ways to be able to build my credit score up but the only debts I got are from hospital bills with ridiculous amounts. I thought medical bills didn't keep your credit score down?

Me too. Im in the same boat
If your medical debt has gone to collections and is being reported to the credit bureaus, then the debt would negatively affect your credit score.
My best advice for medical debt is to talk to the billing department before it goes to collections. You are usually able to set up a payment plan, and there isn't any interest on the debt like a credit debt or loan. Just be up front with what you can pay, and go from there (Can't get blood from a stone). Just don't let it go to collections. I had a hospital stay that was thousands of dollars (after insurance adjustment) and it took me years to pay it off…but it never went to collections because I talked with the hospitals billing network as soon as I could. Even if you can only pay $25-$50 per month, it really is better to make tiny progress instead of no progress.
All of my medical bills are over 1 million dollars. I can never begin to repay that.
I had a sergery yesterday plus all the other bills are going to drive me crazy.
