I have 3 right now, which is manageable for my life. I couldn’t envision having more. One is a travel card that’s linked to the airline I fly with the most frequently, the second is a charge card that I have to be careful when using because I have to pay in full each month, and the third is a rewards credit card that comes in handy when buying things on Amazon.
I have several credit cards how many is to many
@Shakia, I found this article to be helpful: https://www.saverlife.org/money-101/how-many-credit-cards-should-i-have
For me, 3 is just the right amount because each card serves a different purpose for me in my life. It depends on the individual though! I have friends who only have 1 credit card, and others who have upwards of 8-10.
What do you use your credit cards for usually?
@ Danielle B. thanks I’ll check out The site and I have 7-8 working on not having so many but they all serve a different purpose
And that's A-okay! How do you like to split your credit card usage usually?
I keep getting offers from one of me creditors - with a VERY HIGH limit offer pre-approved. Should I take it?
@Susan - I feel like there are a lot of things to keep in mind when it comes to getting a new credit card. I've had friends fall into the trap of getting too excited about a high limit, pre-approved card, but realizing too late what that meant when they say how insanely high their APR was :/
I don't have any credit cards but have been thinking about getting one. My daughter plays on a traveling softball team and we would only use it for that purpose what should I look for when deciding on what to do?

Look for one with no annual fee, low interest and cash back or rewards that you would benefit from. I like my Bank of America cash back and my daughter likes her Discover with travel rewards.
I have 2 one I used for gas and stuff the other never used
Why are some credit cards maki g you add mo ey to the card first to use

Those are secured cards that only allow you to use up to the amount you have on deposit with them.
I knew this crazy guy that tried to see how many he couldl get

that is crazy…. i've closed accounts that I've not used in 3 years….. always mindful that I could potentially be on the hook if I do not catch fraud in reasonable period of time……
I'm trying to decide if getting a credit card before I apply for a business loan is a good idea. Anyone have experience with business loan process?
The safest way to build credit with a credit card is to pay it after each use, set aside daily what ever amount you charge so you donu build debt.
I have several credit cards which offer cash back rewards. I tend to use the one with the best cash back percent for what I am purchasing. When I use my cards, I pay them off at the end of the month.
Discover is my favorite for rewards
You can build credit by using your credit cards where you normally pay cash and put aside the cash you would normally use to pay the card at the end of the month
I have a auto repair card to fix my car.
I have a clothing credit card to buy nice clothes for work. I haven’t used these cards recently.
wouldn't having too many credit cards hurt the credit score?
I have several credit cards. Currently have 2 I keep in my wallet. The others about 5 I keep somewhere safe so if an emergency comes up I have it available. Within the last 2 years worked on getting all paid off and now all but one do not carry a balance. I am so proud of myself having been able to stick with this and get my finances under control!
I have 3 cards currently. I only use 1 consistently… the other two I barely ever use.
Stick with 2 cards, it’s manageable.
