At annual credit report dot com, you can review your credit history as is understood by the three major credit bureaus. This is the best place to go to build your credit or figure out why your credit score may be low. You are legally allowed to get three free credit report copies per year. Annualcreditreport.com is the only place to review, dispute and request free copies of your credit report. I have seen businesses offer to dispute inaccurate information on your behalf but I don't know of any off the top of my head.

You can not get your credit score from your credit report; those are two separate things.
You can usually get a credit score from a credit card. For example the capitalone credit card gives you free access to creditwise.
I've successfully disputed a couple accounts on my credit report that were showing active when they were actually closed a few years ago. It's certainly worth it to read your entire credit report.
