I am a 42 years old guy, who would help anyone if need it, but apparently those who I do, take advantage and always end hurting financially, I got my little house after years of work, so people sometimes need a place to crash, eventually rent them a room and treat like family, we sign a lease etc etc everything on paper, but they used things like COVID, to eventually avoid paying they part and goes to the limits that I had to work overtime to complete the expenses, the last person I help didn’t paid me in 7 months try to get rental assistance, sabotage the help, and left me with a 800 dollars power bill, a cut gas bill, and a 400 water bill. And he threat me…. He’s the 3 rd person who does that to me. And it’s completely legal. Why? Now I even unemployed and with all the burden.
oh man do I know the feels.
I bought a house for my grandma, mom, cousin, brother, and myself to live in.
my cousin was shot in the head, grandma couldn't handle living with my mom & I, my brother went to jail and came back a monster and I was left with a giant house and 140k debt.
so, I thought I'd get roommates.
worse idea ever.
for starts, none of them ever paid rent aside from the initial $500 they have me to move in. fast forward a year, still, none of them have paid. they've destroyed the house, turned the park-like yard into a field of trash mountains, and there's all kinds of criminal activity. to the point the city keeps issuing me fines & putting liens on the deed, but refuses to help me remove the cause of the issues. won't even offer advice. l I've seeked help from every program/property-related business/lawyer who'd answer the phone and all of the 3 letter government agencies. I even tried getting protection orders. nothing. not a single helpful anything from anyone. the governor of WA and the Mayor of Tacoma both sent me "condolences on your $@!#% life" letters. it got so bad I had to leave all my belongings behind and flee for safety because the streets were & are still safer than being at that house. fast forward another year, I was still living in my car until a few months ago, when my brother stole it while I was in the shower. then the rental assistance programs came out. so, I applied, for all 9 people whove been living there for free for the last 2 years. EVERY APPLICATION WAS DENIED. except 1, but they wrote a physical check and sent it to..surprise.m the $@!#% house…so, when I found out I called the place and was like "noooo! you need to cancel that immediately!!" it's been 2 months since then and they are refusing to rewrite it because the tenant "is unresponsive and cannot verify income" so, fast forward to today, i'm still without a vehicle, still homeless, lost everything I ever owned, noone will hire me, and to too it all off, my mortgage is 140k & I'm 9 months behind (1500x9), accumulated 10+ liens & vatias documents attached to the deed of the house, code enforcement continues to issue fines yet won't board up the house, power company won't let me remove my name from the bill. oh yeah, how'd I forget to mention, i've been stuck paying the utilities AND rent L for all these f***ks this entire time. have literally lost faith in "charities" "resources", "assistance programs", & the governments. $@!#% I'm surprised i still believe there's a chance there might be good people out there. cuz tell you what, if there are, they are far and few in-between.
