I just want to retire from working for someone else, I don’t mind at all running my own gig.
I would want to retire early.

I wish I would have got to be able to see this part and unfortunately I didn't get to do retirement circumstances happen to certain people when you can't get to that point so this is a question for me that I would have did retirement if I had a chance to

I'm not working right now, and I'm so happy. I love having time to volunteer, get my house in order, spend time with my family, exercise (I've lost 20 pounds!), read, and practice hobbies, like cooking. I've never had much time to do any of that when I've worked full time or I was just too tired because I was salaried and required to do a lot of overtime without extra pay. I really hate working for others, especially when I don't agree with what a company is doing.

I'm a few decades from retiring, but at this time, I'm not sure I actually will be able to. It depends on what I plan to do during that time and how my life circumstances leading up to that allow me to save for it.
I retired 6 years ago and I'm loving my life now, being able to do what I want when I want.
I think it’s advantageous to save for retirement even if you aren’t planning on retiring, because there are a lot of factors that could prevent someone from working forever. If you aren’t working for yourself it’s necessary to factor age discrimination and potential health problems that will derail someone from working forever.
Very interesting perspectives yall! thank you for sharing
