First you have to get your earnings and expenses together to make a budget. Once that is figured out you can see what's left for savings.

Don't spend too much on things you don't really need

I am thankful for Saverlife because they have terrific staff who provide lots of suggestions for money management. The beauty of this website is that you can find what works best for your situation/household. Since I started using some of the suggestions, I have been able to set myself on a weekly allowance and I am also working on my household budget.
The member suggestions have also helped me to grow up and take charge of my finances. Living below my means and stopping unnecessary spending is what I am working on daily. I am learning to be more intentional about my spending and my money management.
My suggestion for everyone is to begin with small steps and don't beat yourself up if you don't get it perfect the first week. Just remain intentional about getting your finances in order and everyday you will begin to see changes. Celebrate even the smallest change!

I definitely think the best way to start is to have a budget and allow it to be somewhat flexible. I find that not having it set in stone and allowing myself to move funds from one category to another as I need helps me skip feeling bad about myself if I overspend in a category (example moving some “gas money” over to “grocery money”). As long as I’m aware of what I’m spending, don’t overspend all together and I keep my goals in mind - I do okay.

I’m not perfect of course and am relatively new at it but being forgiving towards myself when I do mess up makes it easier for me to stick with it and continue to get better at it.

Good luck!

I need to stop buying unnecessary things that I don't need. But now I have a business so most of my money goes towards opening my business

My number one tip is: expect emergencies and save for them before they occur
