I need some new ideas for the crockpot. Winter is coming!
I only have a couple crockpot recipes…first chili -basic 2 cans pureed tomatoes, 2 cans chili beans, 1/2 to 1 lb browned ground beef drained, seasoned to taste with chili powder and some crushed red pepper flakes - I cook low for 6-8 hours; second is a quiche - take 1 loaf french bread tear in pieces and put in crock, in mixing bowl - scramble 8-10 eggs, 1/2 c milk, salt & pepper, stir in cheese & maybe some leftover ham, pour over bread, cooks on low for couple hours…and third is potato soup - potato soup is new for me but I peeled and diced potatoes and 1 onion, put in crock then mixed in cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, 1/2 c milk and triple cheddar cheese - cooked 1 hour on high then low the rest of work day….
There's all kinds of stuff to make in crock pots chilli, homeade chicken noodle soup, ham and bean soup, pigs in a blanket, stuffed peppers, beef tips in gravy , roast etc. If you Google it a huge list comes up for crockpot meals.
I love this recipe and so does my son.. Slow Cooker Pulled Pork
1 cup barbecue sauce
2 cups beef stock
1 tbsp salt
2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp chili powder
1 tbsp smoked paprika
combine dry ingredients..
Rub dry ingredients over pork shoulder and cover in aluminum..
let marinate overnight or 24 hours for a more savory and deeper flavor..
Place the shoulder in crockpot with the beef stock and barbecue sauce..
Set on low for 8 to 10 hours.. turn at the 4 to 5 hour mark..
Reduce about a cup of the liquid from crockpot before pulling apart pork with .. Enjoy
