What ways are you taking to save money now a days with all this extra time on your hands at home
What ways are you taking to save money now a days with all this extra time on your hands at home
With the pandemic, I am eating out much less and cooking at home. This has significantly decrease my monthly expenses.
With working from home due to the pandemic, I have been able to save money from my budget that would normally go to transportation costs. Also since I only go out for essentials shopping my discretionary spending is also lower offering more money for me to boost my sinking funds.
I'm not thrift shopping or going to the flea market, this has resulted in a lot less money spent on stuff I don't really need.
I am using the increase in SNAP benefits to stock up on spices and bulk ingredients that are not perishable so that I can continue to cook nearly all of my meals at home. I also have been buying meat and freezing it and make a meal for 4 so that I have leftovers for several days.
Not good at all its hard.
I'm actually saving on groceries since using Instacart (started in March.) I'm very frugal but the small cost of my Aldi delivery every week or two added to food costs is less than I use to spend doing my own shopping. Because impulse buying of amazing chocolate products or that cool houseplant I "needed" don't happen anymore. Also any time these's an issue like male shoppers always bring me cabbage instead of iceberg lettuce:) they credit and sometimes add $5 to your acct. Customer service is very good.
Today I saved $10 on friends and family promo deal :). I have 4 / $10 credits left if anyone is a new instacart user you can use this link to save $10 https://inst.cr/t/MnoxR0hoMG1M or promo code C97C816163
I have been working remotely during the pandemic and have only been doing essential shopping which is allowing more money to go towards my sinking funds.

@Lanoshia E. With what? lots of help here…
I am saving more because it’s no where to go really
Interesting responses. It's been hard for me due to being unemployed during the pandemic.
I used to take the bus and train everyday to work. I had money coming out of my check every month go directly to my metro card, but since I have been working from home during the pandemic. I put a freeze on the direct deposit and I put that money in my savings account. This is so great because I had $150 come out of my check and now I have $600 in my savings account so far.
Staying home more results in less spending. But it seems like it’s hard to get ahead during the pandemic.
I save money buy using CVS & Walgreen's coupons.
I’m struggling to save. I’ve worked during the pandemic. I have worked remotely since November 2019. I’ve saved on gas in my car. I have son turning 16 in less than a month in need of a car and another who started college this week. The struggle is real.
The struggle is so hard…
I save on transportation, gas and toll, cause I'm still working from home. I put that money into savings
The struggle is real and hard to come out of
