Im constantly reminding myself I have to save money, but I truly fail at the not spending money part so I would definitely benefit from reminders not to spend money

Reminder not to spend!
A reminder to save because if I save money then I won't spend it on something anyway.
A reminder to save!
Reminder to save!
I would like a reminder to save. I only spend on the things that are my necessities for my household.
If the reminder was linked to habits likely to promote spending (e.g. a pop-up when I visit certain websites), then a reminder to not spend. If the reminder was linked to irrelevant externals (e.g. every Monday at 9 am), then a reminder to save. The “save” reminder can be heeded whenever it’s received; the “don’t spend” reminder is really only relevant if I was about to spend when it’s received.
Reminder to save!
There should be an app to download that asks you a series of questions before you buy something. The app would ask questions like do I need this, can I afford this and how much use am I gonna get out of this item.
@Delwin, that's an awesome idea!
