Both
Reminder to save
I have automatic savings, so I would say not to spend but make it sound more like a helpful reminder and less like a demand.
I'm fine with the reminders to just save. The suggestion to not spend sounds bossy. I didn't ever like being told what to do as a child, and still not as adult.
Ok
Reminder to save.
That is a great idea

Reminder to save
Not to spend
A reminder to save. I don't make many frivolous purchases and I don't want to feel guilty about the few that I make. A reminder to save is a good way to reevaluate my finances to see if I can afford (or push myself) to save a higher amount than my automatic deposit is currently set to do.
