Anyone have one they recommend? Preferably one that's free? TIA

I've used Mint and Personal Capital in the past, but didn't stick with them. I like that Personal Capital can monitor your checking, savings, and brokerage accounts, as well as credit card accounts to provide a consolidated transaction history of cash flows. A friend loves EveryDollar which has free and premium versions.

I'm obsessed with PC! I love how it tracks your net worth and holds you accountable.

I need to check out personal Capital. I am not familiar with that one. Thanks George 🙂

@Shakia, Mint is really good! I was able to connect my accounts and see where I was spending and what I should cut back on. Also, my credit card apps help me budget because I can see where I'm spending. I can even set a personal limit for myself, which has come in handy when I know I should keep my money tighter.

Prism is a good free budget app. You can also leave a tip & use their auto pay . It’s easy to use.

I’m new to all this. So far, two weeks in, I found a budgeting app called Spending Tracker. So far It’s working for me. I did upgrade to the premium version for $2.99.

I like that it’s very easy to use and requires that you manually enter you data. Helps with accountability and knowing exactly what you have and where you’re spending.

@La Dawn, the Prism app looks SO COOL! I was looking for something just like it so I wouldn't have to keep inputting when my bills are due on my calendar and then scrambling to make things work. Thanks for the suggestion!

@Diana, it's like your accountabili-buddy! That's amazing. I used to say no to purchasing apps, but now I'm more willing to buy them as long as I can see how they'd benefit me in the future.

How does the premium version differ from the free version?

@Danielle B. What I like better about the premium version is the ability to customize the categories. I'm sure there are many that do that for free, however I found Spending Tracker (ST) and went with it. I have Mint and have use it for a long while but there is something about ST that suited me. I like that it allows you to name your spending categories was detailed as you like. For example, I named one "Work Parties". Long story-short, after keeping all my receipts for 1 year and painstakingly going over all of them I found that I spent a WHOLE LOT of money on contributions towards pot-lucks, birthdays, holidays, fund raisers, TGIF parties and whatever parties! All this phantom spending that I hadn't accounted for in my regular budget was shocking. This is what I mean about customizing the categories in ST. Details like this are very helpful to me to help meet my goals.
