How do you budget when you are on a fixed income? It's very hard especially since I have young children that's always needing something.

I feel your pain. Last year I babysat before and after school to earn the money needed for our oldest to be on her schools swim team. This year however, covid will prevent me from that system. I had to resign from teaching six years ago to stay home to provide the necessary care for our disabled son. He has a compromised immune system unfortunately, and therefore I cannot risk bringing anyone into our home. The extra cash I made paid for all kinds of needs such as field trips and miscellaneous school fees…new socks when the old ones got holes. It's looking grim around here these days.
There are a lot of remote jobs now doing contact tracing for Covid and call center jobs from home. Some are 3 or 4 hrs a day so it cold work with kids at home?
I am too ,it is definitely hard.
I have taken to donating plasma to support my son and I, I also have signed up through instacart, it doesn't pay what I am used to but it works. As long as I budget with my food stamps, wic and foodbanks.
With limited income definitely took turns during this pandemic. Especially with jobs are being decreasing makes it harder to find work. Work are limited to essentials work fields.

Donating plasma is a good way to get a little extra income, I have had a couple of friends do it and they were getting paid weekly for it
It is every hard to save and budget when you’re the only one with the income. I work just to maintain my household, bills, student loans, needs and even wants. I have a child in college as well. I’ve been job hunting for a better paying job with no luck.

I'm on a fixed income and it's difficult to save. I try to set goals of an item I want and tend to do without just to be able to reach that goal
