My credit score increased 61 points 1/5/2021 to 3/2/2021. That's a short period of time. I am using SELF app (link using STEADY app and earn a bonus). I opened a SELF loan/savings account and after 3 months of payments I will receive a secure credit card. I set a savings goal and time period. Then I make payments on the loan (which is my savings as well that I receive at end of loan period). After 3 months of on time payments/savings, I will receive credit card. In addition, SELF reports my payment history to all 3 credit bureaus. Making timely payments every month, raises my credit score, I'm saving money and receiving a secure credit card. It's wonderful!

I opened a premier credit card, a secured credit card a year ago. Now I have indigo credit card and reflex credit card both unsecured cards. My credit score went from poor to fair.

You can also apply for a CREDIT ONE card it's one of the better ones.

capitol one because they don't ask for security deposit and start you with 300 but their apr and interest may need to be reviewed by you— also milestone

That isn't quite true.

You must have started out with better credit than many others because they base the deposit on a number of factors and it can be from $0 to $300 but you can make the initial deposit for more to start with a higher limit.

But after a few months they may increase your limit without asking so for that reason I'd say it's pretty good.

I am interested in SELF, do I apply online? How likely am I to get a credit card with low low credit?

Are secured credit cards through credit unions worth a try?

Try different store CC. Wal-Mart is very good to have because it can be used for anything in store and at murphy's.

I love self as well! It’s increased my credit score by so much over the past year.

I would like to get a credit card again. It is really best for my personality to use a debit card for all my monthly expenses. I don’t mind just using a debit card. I just stop spending when my debit card is running low on funds. I don’t need to buy extra stuff. I don’t have the room to put more things in my home.

I had very poor credit but in the past year I opened Self Visa, Capital One Mastercard and Discover It cards. I actually like Discover the best, even with it being secured. It had the lowest deposit required which is refunded after 8 on time payments, the lowest APR, no annual fees and I earn rewards on every purchase.
