I am in my third year of medical school and haven’t gotten those calls yet to repay the loans but I was wondering if it is a good time to start anyway?

If you have the ability to start repaying now, it would be a good idea. Interest rates and the cost of all goods and services will be going up as a result of the increase in minimum wage.

Letting the interest build on your loans will come back to hurt you.

I agree with Richard. The sooner you start paying back, the sooner you're finished and the less money you'll have to pay back overall. Start repaying as soon as you're able.
