In only one months time, I've lost my husband to covid19, my home, faith in humanity, trust in law enforcement to protect & serve, etc etc. Where's the help that's readily available because no one can or will help me they say if they even respond. I'm honestly embarrassed to be an American more often than not.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Have you tried setting up a go fund me page for yourself so people can donate to you financially to help you out.

Being under prepared on how to navigate the financial systems is very common in America. How would you know if you weren't told to look out for the pitfalls.

I don't think people really think "Hey, there's a good chance real soon my spouse will die, I will be lied to, basically tortured, harassed, become homeless and my whole banking account will be used up that my spouse & I saved up?
*Police here…Serve and protect? JOKE!!
*Housing here… Helpful? JOKE!! Vindictive? Liars? Slum? ABSOLUTELY
*Resources here… Only if they feel like helping & it depends on how they'll judge the one needing it. JOKE!!
ETC…..ETC….ETC….

Dirty *$$ county and state I reside(d) in. Love playing games with people and lives.
So yes, morals…..

Self respect, honesty, common sense…. I could go on but I'm not going to.
If the tables were turned on who did what they did to me, & most was on purpose, I believe they would be pretty upset too.

Whatever!!

When will morals make a comeback?

how is this a morals issue?

It's a moral issue because the United States is one of the wealthiest countries in the world, yet we allow people to live in poverty; don't provide healthcare to everyone; don't support families with decent childcare and paid maternity/paternity leave; have terrible schools in poor districts; allow businesses to treat workers like garbage; allow police to $@!#% our citizens; have overflowing jails; etc., etc. There are a few rich billionaires that own almost everything in this country, while the rest of us struggle; yet we continue to elect representatives who vote against our interests. Americans only seem interested in themselves and their own families and don't care about others who are suffering. I constantly hear about how people don't deserve unemployment, that decent healthcare is a privilege and not a right, that they shouldn't have to support public schools if their children don't attend–as if they're not part of a society. People don't believe anything bad happens here that isn't deserved unless it finally happens to them. My girlfriend's 10-year-old died of a rare illness. While he was sick and racking up $100,000 plus in medical bills, his father was fighting in Afghanistan, and his mother worked at Walmart. After six months, they finally let his dad come home, and the boy died a month later. The guilt, pain, and financial worries caused his father to commit $@!#% a year later. We had to have fundraisers to help his mother pay off her dead child's medical bills. That is immoral!

Oh my, how heartbreaking for you. I am sorry to read this and can feel the pain in your post. I am not sure what to say, but perhaps the best way to seek assistance is to call the town hall in your town, and talk to someone and ask if they can help, or they can refer you to where to go for help. If not your town, then your county. You will be able to get some assistance hopefully. I am sorry to hear about your husband. I cant even begin to imagine how you feel. Seek out help, you need to be able to talk to someone to start healing. (((HUGS)))
