It's hit or miss. Sometimes you never get them; sometimes they give you a lot of points at once, but it never corresponds to what you were missing. Knock on wood: the last few months they've been pretty regular for me. A week seems to start in the afternoon on Mondays [EST time].

For me to get the points I knew I had earned but never received I had to get in touch with them. I then was rewarded all missing points but this problem hasnt been solved yet. Because it keeps happening over and over.

Same here, points don't show up consistently and sometimes (like today) it doesn't show that I've read the article of the day no matter how many times I read that stale old article that I've seen a million and a half times.
