I think the $2400 would be better then $1200. Plus I think that instead of the government waiting for the completion of a study to determine if people needed money was just a waste of time.
Do you mean the stimulus check from two months ago??? Look on the IRS website. Should've gotten it by now!!!
Fingers crossed that a decision for a second stimulus check will happen by July. I'd like to invest it in my retirement!
If you haven't gotten the first $1,200 stimulus you need to call the IRS if you're talking about the second stimulus because it hasn't been past and no one knows what it's going to turn out today
If you haven't received your Economic Impact Payment (stimulus check), be sure you have a 2018 or 2019 tax return on file with the IRS. If you weren't required to file 2018 or 2019, go to irs.gov and use the Non-Filers: Enter Payment Info Here button. That will allow you to put a 'blank' 2019 return into the IRS system. Do NOT check the box that you or your spouse can be claimed as a dependent… dependents are not eligible for the payment. The taxpayer can receive a $500 payment for each "qualified" dependent, but the actual dependent does not receive a payment.
If you filed a 2018 or 2019 tax return electronically and still have not received the payment, call 800-919-9835 and speak with an IRS representative to verify that you are eligible for the payment. That number is available Monday-Friday from 7am to 7pm your local time.
Hopefully they pass there 2nd one too - could really use it!!!!
