We have health insurance, but it doesn't pay anything until we meet our $7k family deductible. Even with the "discount" we supposedly get from having insurance, prescriptions were really expensive. I checked out the new Pharmacy section on Amazon and found I can get most of our meds much cheaper–like 50 to 75% cheaper!–using their pharmacy WITHOUT using the insurance than when I order from our regular pharmacy (Express Scripts) WITH insurance. On Amazon, you have the option to use insurance or not, depending on what costs less. It works like any other pharmacy–just have your doctor send a new rx to the Amazon pharmacy. Shipping is free, if you have Prime. My first order was delivered the next day, and my second order took 2 days. The meds even seem to be the same generics that Express Scripts uses because they look identical. I even got my non-prescription generic allergy meds for $15 instead of the $28 that Walmart charges. Anyway, I'm hoping this info might help others who aren't aware of the possible savings on meds.
That’s great information. Thank you! I never considered having my doctor send prescriptions to Amazon pharmacy. I’ll definitely keep that in mind for the future.
Also, GoodRx gives you free coupons and can save up to 80% off prescriptions. There is an app too https://www.goodrx.com/go/homepage-lander-sem-6?c=homepage-lander-sem-6&gclid=Cj0KCQiA0-6ABhDMARIsAFVdQv-Ih_F8ZItXvtts0pxEHRzTfDCnNw2FVqPWY1W7svByZQfVvzvcbOEaAvjIEALw_wcB
Thanks! I tried Good Rx at my local pharmacy but didn't have much luck. However, I didn't know about the app and maybe that would make a difference. I'm going to check it out!
I need help with finding low health care.
At first I was apprehensive to sign up for GoldRx, but the savings has covered my cost per month. I would recommend everyone to check out Good Rx.
I am going to sign up for goodrx.
Blink is another good one!
There are many prescription savings cards now. It pays to do your homework and find which card or card(s) may be best for the particular medications you are taking. I have to use two different ones for the two medications I take. One is from America's Pharmacy and the other one is from SingleCare. Walmart is where I get my prescriptions filled and they don't mind helping you by putting these cards in their system for you.
It pays to shop around for different prescription savings cards. I only take two prescriptions but to get the best savings I have to use a different card for each one.
Thank you for telling me about Amazon pharmacy.
I get most of mine on line save's me a lot of money & time .
