Marketplace health insurance is a type of coverage that can be a great option for people who aren’t offered health insurance through another source, like an employer, Medicaid or Medicare. Anyone can enroll in a Marketplace plan during Open Enrollment, which runs between November 1st and December 15th in most states. Some states, like California and New York, extend their deadlines past the 15th to give people more time to enroll.

Outside of that time, you can enroll in coverage if you have a qualifying life event - for example, losing coverage you had through a job, or having a baby. In most cases you’ll have 60 days to enroll.

Here is a great resource with more information about how to apply for Marketplace coverage:

I think during past years open enrollment has started in October. Otherwise, like @Aleka said, you may qualify to do it after a major life event.

It's coming up soon soon before new years so if you miss your 60 days you have a chance.
