All spare change you get from everything that you buy, put in a jar and don't touch it until it's full. When it reaches the top, use that spare change to treat yourself with a new car accessory or date night. Having something fun to look forward to having/doing will help with wanting to save your nickles and dimes every time you shop! :)

I just started a change jar. Its filling up quick! I'm trying to save money to buy a house. Anyone else have some ideas about anything else you could do to save money?
The savings jar is a great vehicle for saving. You don't have to fancy either. I have jug with a large opening and top that I currently use. My tip is to leave it in plain site so you are motivated to put money in. I do change and dollar bills!
I'm doing this with my four year old
We've been doing this since about April and have already saved at least 700$ we're thinking about a major repair that needs done or something that we're really in need of like a new bed .
It's extremely difficult for me to do a change jar. I just don't use enough cash anymore to even think about it. Now that "plastic" rewards me to use it, I pay for almost everything that way, BUT I pay off the balance every month, so no interest!
I use my change for exact change
I save my change thru the year and that's what's spent on Christmas. Of course i fill in the rest if need be.
We started doing this at the beginning of the pandemic and just recently cashed it in. To our surprise it had over $1000 in it which we used to get new tires
