I'm new to this forum and I'm loving what I see thus far. I love to travel to various places around the country and outside of the country, so I started a travel fund geared specifically for that. Has anyone else done this?

I would like to. But these times I’m saving for the emergency fund lol
I am turning 40 this year and want to take a trip! I want to go somewhere I have never been so this is already so helpful in giving me strategic ways to do it!!!
Barely living paycheck-to-paycheck, but I'd love to be able to take a trip sometime down the road.
For those of you having trouble budgeting you should follow The Budget Mom on IG and Facebook. She’s great and isn’t super strict like Dave Ramsey on how you save your money.
Yes, I have a travel fund, but mostly get free hotel stays and flights from travel credit card sign up bonuses. Such a blessing to help us all afford more travel.
That's my next sinking fund. I have 2 graduations cross country next year and with a tight budget I'm saving a little each month.
That’s never gonna happen for me..
If I ever decide to travel it would be with kids but I’m a household of 9, that’s really impossible to save for.
Traveling inside the states will be better since many places has now listed Americans as dangerous because of our high number of covid positive patients. Check with the city that you are going to because they have quarantine rules.
I've done a Travel Fund before but in COVID times I've reduced it to an Adrenaline Sports Fund so I can still enjoy social distance activities like parasailing and hangliding in-state.
I want to have a trip but with this situation I will wait.
My family definitely loves to travel! We would rather spend money on the experience of travelling and seeing the world than on possessions, so we prioritize our spending accordingly. Also, I claim single with zero dependents on my taxes all year long to ensure that I'll have a nice refund when I file as married with children. This is generally used for a family vacation. I also have my preferred airlines credit card so that any credit card purchases I make are earning me miles towards a free plane ticket.
I have spent 6 years trying to save enough for a family vacation to hawaii, but everytime we get close, I end up needing the money for an emergency beyond my emergency savings. When this happens, we usually do a local vacation to at least have an adventure for the year, but then have to start saving all over again. I wish it was easier to keep aside for that, but other stuff always gets in the way. This is definitely one of my top priorities though to be able to go in June 2022.
I started a travel fund in April 2018. It has been great to have money set aside in the event I want to go on vacation. I setup a direct deposit from my paycheck to go into the account every two weeks.
I hope soon all will be normal and have the possibility to travel.
I know someone that makes a goal of saving. When they reach that goal they reward themselves with so much per week for 6 months and use that as a travel/fun fund. The goal they make at first is very challenging and for emergency/kids fund. By making it such a challenging goal and succeeding, it makes the travel/fun fund just that much sweeter!
Yes
Savings is very important but it is also important that we take the time to relax and enjoy a vacation. I am saving whatever I can for emergencies but I also going to take a quick vacation to see my family because they are important too.
Waiting to travel till I’m fully vaccinated. Saving a little each week for when I can finally book a trip!
Saving is hard when planning a trip. Any tips?
One thing I have done is use auto transfer via my bank. Every time I use my debit comes out of my checking $1 is transferred to my vacation fund. It's a leave it and forget about it type of account for me.
I have not yet since im currently not working
