@Shaina P. Sorry to hear that. Service FCU’s bonus program is being revamped starting this week. So unfortunately it may not be as generous or easy of a bonus after this week. It is not reported as being Chex sensitive on doctor of credit website. So you may want to order your Chex report to ensure all the info is inaccurate. I do not normally apply for accounts that are listed as Chex sensitive because I have a fair number after applying for new accounts for the bonus a couple times a month.

I use Ally. It's among the highest APYs w/o min/max or management requirements.

Definitely worth checking out these suggestions to get that higher apy interest.

Check out your local credit unions. I signed up for 2 and Ally to take advantage of their APY

@Vittorio G. With Acorns, Robinhood or Stash you can start with a tiny amount. If I could advise my younger self and you I'd say just start NOW with $5. Keep working to save emergency funds but the investing will motivate you. Find side hustles to increase your income so you can get beyond "only trying to make ends meet."
It's so easy to put off saving, thinking you don't really have the $ but so many people here have proven that once you start it becomes a habit. No matter the amount invested you become financially empowered instead of afraid. Amen :)

RCAs are the answer, or at least my answer!

What is an RCA? I googled it but got tv's :)

I'm trying out HMBradley, which offers a hybrid checking account. The account uses your saving rate from the previous quarter to assign you one of four interest tiers ranging from 0.50% to 3% APY. If you can save at least 20% of your deposits from the previous quarter and receive a direct deposit at least once per month, you can earn 3% APY on up to $100K.

@Aaron G. The reviews on the Doctor of Credit website scared me off from HMBradley. I guess you’ll likely have that rate thru the end of the year?

I had no issues opening the account, nor did I have any issues establishing a direct deposit from my DoD paycheck. I agree that the rate seems highly unsustainable, but given what other rates are, it seems worth a shot.

Thanks. There's some rate risk, but rates are generally low everywhere else.

Do you have the Evansville RCA yet? I am glad I joined the CU.

Yes. I don't know how long they can keep up that 3.3% but I'm riding it for as long as it lasts!

I haven't gone through all the pages here so this may have already been mentioned, but if you're a t-mobile/sprint customer, t-mobile money is a good option. 4% on the first 3k and then 1% after that.

This is some great information for serious savers. Need more time to do some homework.

Thanks to whoever signed up, they don't show me names… I've got a few hundred tickets for next week 💰💰💰

How much have you won there?

@Chris R I've won just under $5, I think it's been 4 1/2 weeks. One winning week I had 300 tickets, the other weeks anywhere between 5 and 25 tickets. I've won some amount 3 of the weeks.

Definitely encouraging me to save more because it's fun and I appreciate their mission. Feels like a good place to save an emergency fund.
