Before I buy something, I will check on Nextdoor, FB, or Freecycle to see if someone is selling it for less, or giving it away for free. This has helped a bunch!

One way to save is to find people you trust and rent a room/share a living place with them. You definitely want to be able to trust and communicate with them.
I know some people buy their own food and keep it their own in these cases [which sometimes cause disagreements], but currently my two housemates and I each pay 1/3 of the food expenses at the end of the month for "variable rent". It seems a lot less hassle that way.

Shop at Aldi, don't buy "stuff," set goals for what you want to do with the savings.

I track my expenses via excel spreadsheet every month. Setting weekly, monthly, and annual targets can help you meet your financial goals.

I take out enough for my bills and household items and don't touch the rest. I also do surveys on the side for PayPal or amazon.

Man SOOO many ways!
Car Insurance: I shop my policy at the end of every term. I then pay it up for 6 months to a year. That saves me anywhere from $5 to $30 a month.
Gas: I drive the speed limit (it makes a noticeable difference in how often I must fill up) and use the GetUpside app to find the cheapest prices in my area.
Household items: I found a couponer on FB and buy from her stash. She makes a little money, I pay half the price of retail.
Electric: Shop for a new plan every time mine expires.
USE CREDIT CARDS! This is my biggest win. I earn between 2.5% and 5% on top of all the other savings just by using my credit card and paying the statement balance every month.

I’m still trying to save. I’ve been working from home for almost a year and was doing good with saving on food and gas. I then got sucked into the DoorDash delivery. I found myself ordering food rather than cooking myself. I’m trying to get back on track.

i use mint.com, and then i set up an automatic savings deposit from my checking into my savings for $20 a week, so the money is gone where it should be before i have a chance to see it or use it
