Recently my daughter's school made a call to close for 2 weeks due to high school students testing positive for covid-19. By doing this all the kids went to virtual learning requiring internet at home. We lost interest here becasue the bill wasnt able to be paid. Upon doing some research for a new provider the ones that offer assistance for lower income families either doesnt get service where I live or the quality is poor. The other companies available are $75 to $150 a month, which is beyond affordable during this time of having to decide what to pay and not running short being able to afford basic supplies for the home. Internet providers all of them I think need to be looking at the state of the economy at this point and create cheaper plans or "lifeline" programs for those who qualify. In this day in age where our children and having to go to school online internet is a must have utility in the home.
